Replacement tubes

#1 Post by Captain Dan » Sat Sep 17, 2022 10:07 am

I have a 2014 Sun Tracker dlx18. Pontoons are shot. Previous owner patched and painted logs just before I purchased. 6 Months later paint comes off and patch blows out and there a100's of holes in the logs bad enough that I almost lost her last time out. My fault guess I should have taken a rubber hammer to the logs before I purchased.
Any way my question is this. The current logs are 18 ft by 24". First question, will 18 by 25" work or 18 by 23"? I run a 60 hp big foot. Upper deck rail and Bimini and motor are perfect even has a 2020 Continental aluminum trailer. Tried going back to Bass Pro for tubes they want 8K plus 2k shipping. I live in Florida and don't mind driving 500 miles to pick a set if the price is right. Anyone have any suggestion or recommendations? I have a local marine who will replace them if I can find them.
Thanks for any recommendations.

I certainly don't see why slighter larger or smaller wouldn't work. After all, manufacturers offer the same boats with different size toons all the time ("sport" or "performance" versions).
