I'm in Indiana just a couple hours away from Elkhart and Goshen where a lot of these are made.

I had the spark plug issue as well, but lucked out and have a buddy who is a mechanic. A case of beer and a couple hours and we were good. The tool is the key to that. I've also had one window regulator go out, but not all 4. I did just replace my transmission at 100K, but I bought it with 70K and the owner before me was a volunteer fireman that had it rigged with the blue volunteer lights and everything, so I'm not 100% sure how abused it was. At least now I should be good to go for quite a while with the transmission.

what did you use on the decking? Is that a car siding/flooring?

Are you talking about the rear vinyl teak flooring? it came with that already installed. The front 2/3rds of the boat is still bare decking until we get carpet put down.

Thanks! Was happy to get something accomplished and not just have it sit. Looking forward to getting the fence rails mounted soon.

Looks great, Ferg. It is really bringing back the memories-I just went through the whole process with a 'Ty Special' South Bay last winter. Still building a year later, but loving the boat.

A couple of suggestions:

Sticker removal-perhaps try a heat gun? Very carefully so as not to delaminate the skin color coating. I did find that the skin coating is pretty tough tho, as we were brazing pretty close to it and it hung in there.

You might consider pulling as much wire and cable as possible BEFORE putting your rub rails on. A little easier to get your hands in there as well as see what you are doing. You can still pull later as well (I still am) but it's a bit tougher.

Feel free to PM me with specific questions if you have them. Glad to help if I can. It's a rough and tumble ride, building a boat, but very satisfying in the end!

tuned,

thanks for the suggestion on removing the stickers / labels. Great idea.

Good call on the wiring as well, makes complete sense.

Thanks!

Hey all,

I’m currently looking for a console for my boat. I’m looking for additional suggestions on where I can find some. I am looking for a console that has the spot for the binnacle mount. I don’t want one that mounts on the side of the railing. The only one I’ve really found is at pontoonspecialists.com. Does anyone have any additional places to look that google searches aren’t bring up?
http://www.pontoonspecialists.com/p-313 ... nsole.aspx
Here is the one that I’ve found so far that fits what I’m looking for, but I’d like something maybe a little bit smaller if possible? The price is right on this one though for $300. Mainly looking to reduce the front to back depth of the console if I can.
Places that I’ve found:
Pontoonstuff.com
Pontoonspecialists.com
Ebay

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I really love my PS console with the 10% percent off and free shipping its kinda close in price to that one...

mine is the deluxe with switches, wood grain, and windshield but here is their cheap one.
