I trashed the idea of using the road signs. Went and bought some 1 inch wide x 1/4 inch thick flat stock, and welded up something much better and stronger. Will install them tomorrow and cut the bases. Also got my speakers mounted. And, I insulated the flip/flop seat cooler. Even used purple insulation so it kinda matches the seat cushions. Will take some pics tomorrow and share how it all turns out. Hoping to get the boat back to the lake this weekend and try out all the new stuff.

Here's a few pics of the latest work.
The modified bases came out GREAT!!! Now I can store all my fishing poles under the seats! I'm glad I went with the flat stock over the street sign pieces. This mod will last forever and it's stout.
The insulation in the cooler seat is just some 1/2 inch stuff from Home Depot. There's 2 inches in the sides, and 1 1/2 inches in the front and back. That should definitely help preserve the ice. I also added an elbow to the drain, and now it'll drain down through the deck. Tomorrow I'll screw all the bases down, and attach the bottom cushions, and hopefully take it back to the lake on Sunday.

Time to hit the lake!
Got everything bolted together and screwed down today. Put my cranking battery, battery charger, and 2 batteries that run radio, bait tank, and everything else under the rear seat. Put the 2 batteries for my trolling motor and the charger for them under the left lean back and front seat. Got 8 fishing poles in the new "rod locker". Took the coutesy lights off my old seats and put them under the toe kick area on the new ones. Got a bunch of other little stuff tidied up. Still have to source some good plywood and get the sun deck recovered, but it's a usable toon again.

This morning's project was a rod rack that just hangs from the side gate.
I'm extremely happy with this simple little addition.

It hasn't seemed fast to me. Feels like forever. Decided not to take it back to the lake yesterday. Thought of a couple more things I wanted to do to it. Gonna try and get them done this afternoon........

Well, I'm not a happy camper....... Finally got to go to the lake today. Filled the flip/flop cooler up with ice and drinks, and hit the water. A little bit later the floor around the flip/flop seat was soaked. Seems as the ice melted and water pooled in the cooler, it started leaking out both sides where it screws to the floor. When I got home, I blocked the drain off and put some water in the cooler. This is the result........ Guess I'll be requesting a new seat bottom.

Well, PS saw my post on his forum about the seat and is making it right. I didn't even have a chance to contact them yet. That's exactly the reason I chose to order from them. Their customer service is great.

On another note, I re-carpeted all my trailer bunks yesterday, and they turned out great. I normally keep the boat in a covered storage yard about a block from the boat ramp I use on Lake Oconee. My original plan was to put the boat in the lake and leave it at the dock, then drive back to the storage spot and do the bunks there with the boat off the trailer. But I decided to give it a whirl in the yard with the boat on the trailer instead. I used a floor jack with a 2x4 standing on top of it to lift the front of a toon. Then put a bottle jack on top of a cement block and lifted the rear of a toon. Snatched out one bunk at a time and recovered them right in the yard. It went really smooth and only took a couple of hours

I took some pics and video of the seat base and sent them to Jim at PS yesterday so he can see what's up with it. Hopefully it doesn't go to his spam box ;-) ...... I'm taking the toon back to the lake tomorrow for some fishing, and I'm gonna leave it there. So I'll have to swap the seat out there later on. Yesterday I decided to add a few small LED lights to my bimini top. I have one over the captain's seat to light up the area underneath the top at night, in case we wanna put the table up and eat or something. I also added 2 more to the front outer edges of the top, facing the front of the boat. These will help light up my fishing poles when I'm chasing slime at night. Today I added more insulation board to the cooler seat. When the wife and I went out last Thursday, we went through 30 pounds of ice. So I added 3 or 4 more layers to the cooler sides, and put some on the bottom as well. I now have as much as you can put without it effecting the top hole. And there's still more space than I really need. None of it is attached to the cooler. It's just cut to fit tightly. It's gonna be a pain in the ass to get it all out again without breaking any of it. I'll find out tomorrow if it makes much difference. Also added a pic showing the new bunk carpet. If I ever decide to use something like toon brite on the logs, will it fade or bleach the new carpet??

The extra insulation in the cooler did the trick! I was on the water from daylight til 3:30 today and it was 93 degrees. Here's a shot of the cooler when I left the lake..... When we went last week with the same amount of ice as today, there was none left in the cooler when we got off the water. Today it was still full.

And here's a good shot of the new carpeting job on the trailer.....[
