I started this some time back and after gather and assembling the parts and materials the project stalled. My brother in law and myself had built the cabin frame, installed the third log and new deck.I then hauled it from Okeechobee Fl. to my house in Inverness Fl. were I built the windows and put marine vinyl on the deck. The project stalled because I needed a hand with the panel and windows etc;thankfully my brother just retired and agreed to help finish it.The deck is 25',cabin 8' x 12',it will sleep four and has galley, hot water shower and chem.toilet.These pictures show the early progress,I will post latest pics as soon as I can get them down loaded.

Here's some more shots of the boat with side panels and windows installed.Panels are 3" foam w/alum sheets[roofing panels],windows are aluminum framed w/ acrylic panes. The windows I found on craigslist at a fraction of the cost,I had to cut them to size of course which was no easy feat. Also you see a pic of the console with top mount shift and switches.Out back it will have a hot water shower a chemical toilet and Camp Chef stove w/oven inside.Hope to have it in the water by the end of this month.will finish the inside as I decide how I want to lay it out.

I've seen several home built house boats but yours is the best so far. Please keep us updated with pics.

Thanks for the encouragement. What got me interested in doing this project was a 5 day 4 night trip up the Kissimmee River to Lake Kissimmee and several overnight fishing trips on my brother in laws boat. The square tube alum. frame, 3" alumclad panels along with alum./acrylic windows make for a light weight package, but very insulated from the elements.I plan on float test by the end of the month but don't expect any problems because it is basically a copy of the brother in laws.I will post pics as I install the add-ons of which there are a few.My brother and I have retired and plan on river trips through out Florida and lots of fishing.

After taking the boat out for a few trial runs,I had to put it on hold to finish some much needed home stuff. Now that the cool weather is coming up I need to get my bunks installed which will also serve as dry storage boxes.Planning on a river trip but haven't decided which river yet, several nearby as I live in Citrus county Fla. Should have plenty of pictures to post.

Have you finished it now? I would like to see photos of the end product, including interior. You could go into the business from what I've seen so far!

I'm putting some finishing touches on the boat and will be posting some pictures soon.Keep in mind that almost everything on the boat was salvaged and re manufactured to fit, otherwise I would have spent a fortune.
