Are these worth taking off my old engine and putting on my new-to-me one???

I had one of those on my previous Four Winns V hull as it was slow to plane or didn't plane until I hit 20 mph. Made tubing and low range cruising much more enjoyable with the fin on. Since pontoons have little to no bow rise, I see no reason for it. Others may have a different experience though.

They are designed to lift the stern of the boat higher, which in a v-hull will help with planing. Their design creates lift in the same way an airplane wing works. I don't know if they would help or hinder a pontoon boat but I have never seen one on one either.

It helps pushing water back to the prop if you are having blowouts or cavitation problems.
