Choosing a Semi-Custom Cover

I have a 2002 Smoker-Craft 818 Infinity Cruiser. I plan to have the seats reupholstered soon and am thinking about buying a semi-custom cover to help extend the life of the new seat covers. Surfing the Net, it seems an acrylic fabric is the best type of cover for primarily mooring purposes. But there are many, many different brands & price ranges out there. Can folks recommend a really good brand? I also see some covers rated as 600D, while others are advertised by ounces. What should I be looking for in a really good cover?

Thanks for your help.

Wally

Don't know where you're located, but I was able to get a fully custom Sunbrella cover for $860 in central SC. It was well worth it to me.

If you end up going the custom cover route, consider this:

Excellent advice! Thanks very much. A local upholsterer (Northeast Vermont) estimated $800-$1000 for a custom cover so I think we're in the right ballpark. I also appreciate that link to the info regarding the snap streaks & cover flap. I'll definitely ask my guy about this.
