Got some time to play on the lake today for a few hours. We tried a couple of different props my buddy loaned me.

So we tried a Stainless 14 x 21p 3 blade and saw 37mph gps @ 5600rpm...if I tried to trim up the prop would let go. So we swapped that out for a Mercury Mirage Plus, which is a 14-3/4 x 21p 3 blade. Top speed was 44.9mph! :thumbsup Unfortunately my WOT RPM dropped to 5100-5200rpm. I think I need to raise the motor a bolt hole, I can't see the cavitation plate when running. This engine is a tad heavier than the 90hp Johnson :biggrin2

Hopefully with a few more props to try out and engine height adjustments I can get her to run a few more MPH's into the upper 40's with this 200hp Mercury!

I'll post pics on Monday, when I can shrink them down at he shop computer.

Cheers 🍻

I imagine in MI in a few more weeks, if you do that 45mph, they'll find you with your hand frozen to the wheel!

Thank you! It's been a fun project, just love the boat. Hopefully Bryden24SHP can chime in and tell me some more speed tips!
