Biga$$ Tritoon

#1 Post by sunedog » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:54 am

Saw this last summer and just getting around to post it. Someone is building themselves a giant tritoon. I'm guessing he's in the dock building business and is going to mount a pile driver or crane on the deck. I'm thinking he's going to need an extra-looooooong shaft motor.

Tough to tell from the picture, but those tubes are about 3 feet in diameter.

I think he is going with a 50 horse Merc outboard, but after adding tap fins he is told he should run around 40 mph or so. :biggrin2

Man, that is going to be one heavy workboat!

I thought my Grandpas home made work barge was nuts but that takes the cake! Grandppa built his out of 6-500 gallon propane tanks, 3 for each tube. Worked great for placing and removing buoys as there was NO fear of hitting a rock with one of those.
