Looking to get a new battery for my mercury 60 four stroke and trolling motor, what would be a good combo? Don't really want to keep adding water so perhaps a sealed one would be better? Thanks.

I run a pair of Exide "Store Branded" 180 Minute Reserve Capacity group 27 batteries on my toon. One in front for the troller and accessories, and one in back for engine starting duties. With a 625 cranking amp rating they got enough grunt to fire up a pretty big outboard also, my Dad uses one on his 150 Suzuki. Best part is, 65$ each on sale! My pair are going on 6 years old and still going strong. As for charging I have a pair of 10gauge cables with a 30amp fuse on each end with a switch so I can charge the front battery when the main engine is running.

Re: Battery recommendation(s)
I have the same battery in my tournament ski boat and one in the Tritoon. When the original primary battery dies I will have 2 Group 31 Die Hard Platinum's in the Tritoon. I have 2 non-marine group 65 Platinum's in my Excursion and 2 in my FJ60 Land Cruiser. I have a group 34 in my FJ40 Land Cruiser too. These are great batteries as they are deep cycle and starting. They go on sale fairly often on the Sears web site. I got the group 31 for $70 off.Bamby wrote:Na I've got contacts on my phoneSCbarber wrote:21 views, I guess everyone rows their toon...LOLBut seriously it seems a lot of folks think real highly of the Sears DieHard Platinum Marine Batteries myself included and I've installed two of the Group Size 31M's on our boat. I've been pretty hard on them at times and so far they've withstood all the punishment I've ever dished out to them.
