My ultimate goal I think is to fix up the Honda, clean up the OMC and sell both to go towards a Honda 150hp.

It looks like that one is running well enough to get a reasonable price.

Cool, I had that exact same Johnson. I hope that VRO pump has been disconnected and your mixing your fuel cause I smoked my Johnson when the VRO gave out at full throttle. Yes, you're running a more powerful 2 stroke that sucks fuel compared to your old 4 stroke. Wide open you should go well into the 30's if not touching 40.

Yup, VRO disconected long ago I suspect. Back to mixing gas/oil. :(

Well, after a few outings I am still in love with the power upgrade, and ii still have not hit full trottle. But MY GOD the fule consumption even at low speeds and RPM's is horrid! :nutkick :nutkick :nutkick :nutkick

Wonder why the fuel side of the pump never goes bad, mine was disconected when I got it, then someone posted the the pump does fuel and oil, at least if the fuel side quits you know it quick and it won't trash the engine.

Finally hit full throttle Sunday, and while not as fast as I was predicting, Im happy with it at 26 mph. Im confident adding the rest of the underskinning and some lifting strakes Ill be at 30 mph.

After completely destroying the lower a few weeks ago, I got that rebuilt ($800) and then had a fuel issue during water test. Mechanic said to put an electric on it, that worked great, so I'm back on the water again. Been taking it easy with new gears, but anxious to strake it out and see what I can get.

How did you set the electric up and what pump did you use?

He told me to buy the Mr Gasket "Purple" pump, but they were out. They sold me another brand that was low pressure, 2.5-4lbs, $71 out the door. It's pretty simple installation, I just tied the hot into the purple wire in the harness, and then grounded it. I'm going to add a relay to be safe this weekend.
