gauges

#1 Post by LVjayhawk15 » Sat Sep 08, 2012 4:11 pm

So on the way back to dock after her maiden voyage this morning a temp light kicked on. (other than that, it was great! lol)
Which lead me to notice there isn't a water temp or pressure gauge, obviously if I had a water pressure guage, maybe (just maybe) i would have seen something prior to leaving dock.
Did anyone install these? Would it be worth it?

Random note:
The red light came on after running WOT for maybe 1 min continuous. I assumed I had some blockage (depth was plenty) so I shut it off, dove in and felt around, looked good, no block. Fired up, was temp light was still on so we came in.

As usual, thoughts appreciated

Sounds like a water pump going out or thermostat

Yes I installed a water pressure gauge, for exactly the reason you are asking the question. I had an overheating problem and the gauge pointed out the problem.
