no eyebolt on front of pontoon to hook cable on trailer to

#1 Post by davidwjacob » Fri Sep 28, 2012 5:17 pm

All,

I have no eyebolt on the front of my pontoon boat to hook the cable on my trailer to so i can wench it up. when we put it on the trailer we just drove it all the way to the front and I ran the cable to the back of the boat to pull it forward, along with a ton of ratchet straps to secure it. how can i put one on? And secure it behind the cross members? any ideas?

Thanks
Dave

Mine is just bolted to one of the cross members, but it has an aluminum flat bar that ties several of the cross members together. Hope this helps

On my boat, there are 2. One for the strap and one for the safety chain:

Dave, my boat is the same way, there is no I-bolt on the front... there is however one back under the deck a couple of feet back from the front... it's attached to one of the cross members, kinda like what bmr posted in the pic above...

Yep, mine's just like bmr's. It's so far back under the boat I'm looking at moving it forward.

If you do, make sure to move the support with it as well. That's there for extra strength. Without it, you'll bend the deck support.

I'm thinking of using only wenches for my evil minions. If I get a lot of them, they'll all "synchronize", and then once a month they'll be AMAZINGLY evil. What was the question again?
