A few questions about a 1992 Aqua Chalet I am looking at. It has a generator, stove, fridge, etc. and is 32 ft. long, with a triple axle trailer.
There is a scum line on the pontoons, the owner has tried different things to get rid of the scum to no avail. Is there a way to clean the toons?
It has a 1985 140hp Evinrude motor
He is asking $12,500 OBO for it. Is that a fair price for a Aqua Chalet, of that year or what do others think it is worth?
Thanks Tom

Re: 1992 Aqua chalet
The price might be okay if the boat had an engine that's much newer. A 1985 model outboard may or may not be worn out, and a mechanic's inspection would be warranted.
This is one of those rare boats, and it's hard to tell what it's worth. 27 years of sitting in the water is a long time. The worth would be related to the overall condition of the boat.
The toons can be relatively easily to get the bottom grunge/moss off of. NAPA has an aluminum cleaner and acid based aluminum cleaners are available at any boat dealership. Scotchbrite pads and some elbow grease would be required after the aluminum cleaners are washed off.
