Any manufacturer making boat lift/garage in kits?

#1 Post by Nusse » Fri Feb 15, 2013 3:46 am

Hi

Hope anyone can answer my question.
Anyone know of a manufacturer that sells good and sturdy lifts that will fit a larger pontoon.

Requirements:
- That it comes in a build your own kit.
- That it fits a pontoon up to 30'.
- That the company/manufacturer exports.
- That it is made to work in salt water environment.

Bonuses:
- Roof
- Able to lift boat 1,5m / 6' over the water.
- Motor add on. But most work with manual system.

Hope for any replies.

I have not seen a manual boat lift sense the 1960's. First they were hard to work even with a 14ft boat and lift out of the water by inches. lifting a 30ft toon up 6ft would take some muscles. I am not sure but I doubt that what your looking for is availiable for a boat that size.

There are a number of different manufacturers that make sturdy cantilever lifts, and they do come in boxes and require assembly. TandMmarine.com has a bunch in stock, but I don't know if their lift capacity is heavy enough for your use. I also don't know if they lift the boat high enough to clear the tides in saltwater application.

But it's doubtful that they'll ship them directly to the Cook Islands. You might check if there's any importer/exporters in the U.S. that service the Cook Islands. They may can acquire a lift and put it in with other items being shipped into your islands.

You may have to have a lift or boathouse locally fabricated out of steel. Many boathouses in the states use Ace style overhead winches, as can be seen in Overtons.com. There are many companies making the pipe style winches, and they're capable of handling larger boats.

You might want to Google "boat lifts" to come up with specific lifts and/or lift accessories that suit your needs.
