I was reading the posts about bunk slicks, and it reminded me about some problems I'm having with a similar product. I didn't want to hijack the thread, so I started a new post.
I bought a product called Bunkaps last August for my jetski lifts. The principle is similar in that this product fits over the existing carpeted or bare bunks and provides a cushioned support.
It seems that the manufacturer has gone out of business, and I'm out $280. He won't return emails or calls.
Anyone else had a problem with Bunkaps or Harley Corporation?

Re: Bunkaps
not familiar to Bunkaps, what was the problem with them?

Re: Bunkaps
The problem supposedly was bad raw materials (vinyl pellets). The mfr put me off for several months before stopping communications completely.
I paid with PayPal, and have filed a claim. I've also filed a complaint with the Indiana Atty General.
The product looked good. It covers the existing bunks and has an air pocket on the top that provides cushion. You can Google Bunkaps or Harley Corp to see how they work. I believe they made bunk covers for boat/pontoon trailers as well.
Buyer beware!

"and has an air pocket on the top that provides cushion"
that sounds wack, i prefer my boat to be more secure at 50-60 mph trailering.
is that the Harley Davidson MC Corp. you are referring to?
hope you get your money back, good luck with your claim.

Re: Bunkaps
No, it's not related to Harley-Davidson. I think the owner's first name is Harley. As for the air pocket, it is surrounded by heavy-guage vinyl, so it just gives a little bit to provide a slight cushion.cleatus wrote:"and has an air pocket on the top that provides cushion"

Since I don't have a trailer for my toon, I really haven't thought out the potential issues with using these things for that application. Actually, I've probably given this crook more free advertisement than he deserves just through these posts!
