Not many ladder options for me

#1 Post by guy48065 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 10:44 am

My old Crest does not have a ladder. I have only one door at the front/center. My trailer is a lifter so I can't install a ladder in the front under the deck. So what's left for me to do? Is my only choice a fold-up ladder mounted to the top/center of the front edge?
I don't want to have to step over the rail if I put the ladder on the back corner. Can I cut in a door or would that look cheezy?

I'm cutting in a door for mine , but alote of work ,you'll need a door extra rail different seating and then ladder will just bolt on rear of deck by toon ,just look for one that folds up , I'm going to use one that telescopes of like a deck boat

I got this for my secondary ladder it looks to be very sturdy and it floats.

On sale too. Plus 10 percent with the special code!

Does your deck extend past the pontoon log in the rear? If so, you can add a drop-down ladder there.

No such luck. In fact unless I build some sort of landing on the log I guess there's no point in cutting a door on the back.

I might be able to mount a removable ladder like the link posted above on the porch end or just rear of it--where I would need to side-step off the ladder onto the porch. At least I'd have the railing to hold onto.

How about just forward of the playpen area? There seems to be an open space there. Also, unless every one climbing out of the water is real small, I would not rely on the fence rail to be a pull-up point.

I have that exact same folding ladder and it works fine, and I would think it would work fine on your front deck on the toon sides.
If it aint broke your not having enough fun

Install this under deck ladder... OFF CENTER.

I installed this because my rear ladder is 'standard' length... makes it hard for most adults to climb...
The under deck ladder works superbly well. The rear ladder is seldom used.

WILL NOT WORK WITH SCISSOR STYLE PONTOON TRAILERS.
The rails & crossmembers on my trailer span the entire space between the tubes.
