Hello, from Dixieland.....

I've been lurking here for a short time, and you guys seem to have it all together, and don't mind sharing your knowledge.

I'm from the south....I'm an old semi-retired guy....and, I bought a 2009 Suntracker Regency 25 with an Optimax 115 for the grandkids enjoyment.

I purchased it from a man/wife, who I know very well....it had only been on the water, maybe 8-10 times, and is in excellent condition....when it wasn't in use, it was stored in a climate-controlled warehouse.

I have a hyd. steering question, please:

First, there is no evidence of any hyd. leaks....but, the steering is somewhat bumpy, and the motor is a bit unresponsive....I have to turn the steering wheel more spins than normal to make the boat turn.

I suspect air in the lines and/or low hyd. fluid level....probably a result of being stored for long periods of time.

Would some of you guys be so kind, as to walk me thru the procedure for checking/maintaining the hyd. steering system??? Thanks.

(P.S. I have scoured the web, trying to find an owners/operators manual for this boat, with no luck, whatsoever....previous owner could not find his copy.)

See: http://www.teleflexmarine.com/support-2 ... g-systems/

Maybe your questions will be answered here.

I would think you can find the instructions to purge air from your system online. I've seen them before online.
