yamaha or suzuki

a local dealer just got in a 1999 yamaha 150 v6 for $3000 (475lbs) and a 2006 suzuki 140 efi 4 stroke (410lbs) for $5000 what sounds like a better deal?

I would go for the newer engine. Chances are you'll get better service out of it.

I've read really nice things said about the 140hp Suzuki 4 strokes.

The only drawback is that Suzuki dealers are few and far between in some locales. And Suzuki Marine is sometimes hard to get parts from, and not nearly as good a company as Suzuki Motorcycles (top notch.)

Yammy is a good motor, but a 4 stroke 2006 efi four stroke for the same price would be tough to pass on.

the Suzuki is $2000 more but i imagine it is twice as good on gas

Newer 4 stroke, to me, sounds like the better option. Newer technology, better gas mileage, quieter.
