Straked twin toons or "RPT" twin tubes will run 2-3mph faster than triple tube on the same boat from what I've seen. The DOWNSIDE is that they tend to lean to the outside on a hard turn instead of bank like a triple and are effected by loading quite a bit more (loose more speed than a triple with each extra person, to the point it won't get up on the strakes. 42 with a 115hp is impressive, my Parents 17.5' Lund Adventure sport only runs 43-44mph with a Suzuki 115.

Sure it'll be fast if there's no weight or drag of the center toon. All you've got to do is get the nosecones out of the water for very much improved speed with 150 hp.

But throw that baby into a hard turn, and the speed's going to drop like a rock. Twin toon boats just don't handle very well.
