thinking about a used 90 merc.How old of an engine would you buy? Need some good advise.

I wouldn't focus on the year as much on the condition-
Invest in a Mobil mechanic-
It can SAVE you money.
I often wonder if Jimmy really did crack corn, and why should I care?

Just because its newer dosnt not mean its better. In fact newer means more expensive repairs and more complicated systems.
If it aint broke your not having enough fun

Thanks guys,I was thinking somewhere in the early 2000s.Got rid of 1999 bass boat and the motor was a 120 Force but was still in really good shape,just throwing out a couple of ideas.

We bought a 2010 Merc 90 came off a bass boat, so far it is working out great, we know the boat shop just pulled it off another boat, doesn't know a thing about it, but is willing to at least get us a another one, if it doesn't work out and we only gave 3000. for it .
