Looking to buy and looking for rear facing dbl chaise lounge

#1 Post by somfas » Thu Jan 16, 2014 5:46 am

As the title says, I am looking to buy a pontoon boat soon. I would prefer something slightly used, but still nice, just to maximize the bang for the buck. Was hoping to keep it in the low $20's. We saw a Suntracker up at Bass Pro that had the rear facing double lounge that we liked. What other boats offer that? Also, do you know roughly what year these started to become popular? I have never seen them on a used boat. Alternatively, if any of you have a boat for sale let me know. I'm in the market for any pontoon boat thats in good shape. If its a good deal, then the lounger becomes less important haha.

Thanks
Mark

There are quite a few manufacturers that make rear lounges.

Post up your location in your profile. That will help narrow down your area.

Have you tried Craigslist? Something like this....it is one of my favorite layouts.

Thanks. I am in North Florida. And I should have been more clear. I am looking for a double chaise lounge that is wide enough for two. No the kind that have one on each side.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Bennington, Premier and others offer a double rear-facing chaise, but I don't know if you can get it on one of their low end toons.

I checked both Bennington and Premier catalogs for the last three years. They do not offer this option on the lower price point (blue collar) priced pontoons. Its offered only on the one's priced for the affluent 1%'ers.

I have a Harris FloteBote Cruiser (low end in their line) with the double rear lounger that you are looking for. I looked and could find nothing used. Traded our SunTracker and with the boat show price and tax savings, I am very happy, but you will be hard pressed to find one with rear lounger and a 150hp engine new for less than $27 - $30k.

Bennington's SSLX has the one 48" sun lounge on 22' and 24' boats. They also have separate recliners on another S model boat. That's their least expensive model hull.

My 24SSLX is just fine for my use with a tritoon and a Yamaha 150 hp. It's very seaworthy and runs 41 mph @ 6100 rpm's.

Thanks for all the info. I'll keep a look out for some of those. I did look up the Harris and one of the first ones I found was $109,500!!! Now thats the one I want!
