Installing 90 Suzuki DF on new Transom

Installing my 90 hp df on the new transom. Is this the proper procedure ? Find the center line,lower motor completely down on transom,drill bolt the upper most bolt holes[there are five of them] and drill at the top of the lower slotted holes ? I'm assuming this is to give you the latitude to raise the engine if needed.

More or less right, top two holes and the top of the slot. But it would be far easier to overlay and clamp the old transom over the new one if you still have it for a pattern and drill them through. If not you may consider using a piece of scrap and making a new pattern rather than experiencing the frustration of wrestling with a motor, drill bolts, washers, and nuts installing it in place.

exactly how I did mine...Sharpie marks are from the old transom....

Thanks guys, I do have my old transom,though it my not be the original. It was drilled for the two top holes and top of the bottom slots. I have the motor on a hydraulic lift [automotive type] so it it fairly easy to move around. I start off with the motor installed in the standard position and see how the boat handles.
