We are well sold on the merits of pontoon boats -- after decrying them for many years as the "mini vans of the water." Once we had kids our offshore fishing activities had to be curtailed and in came the pontoon. We have absolutely loved it plying the waters around Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach and all the waters around the Indian River Inlet in Delaware. While I still have my fishing boat, and love to get out there, we have had many great times on the toon and our kids just love it.
Here's a GoPro video of my fishing boat running back in toward the inlet, while it's hard to tell in the video, it was very snotty out and we were the only boat on an otherwise nice day...

How has the Sweetwater held up? Outr current Bennington is a and the seats look great. We keep it covered with a full cover and leave it uncovered during heavy use periods on the weekends and such. We also use 303 Protectant on the seats.

As to your last comment, I'm new around here so I'm not touching that one!

caught my first flounder in Indian River bay, on a pontoon!, and a nice sea trout in the OC inlet, and Bethany is our favorite spot when we are down that way, I have a sister in Lewes.

Our Sweetwater has no problems at all so far, we use 303 on the seats also, and have the seat covers instead of the full cover.
here, pull my finger

Cleatus -- we love the Bethany Beach area and keep our boat at a marina right on the inlet, so it's easy and quick access to all sorts of activities. You may have seen us out there, we are the pontoon that flies an American flag windsock everywhere we go...

...of course, the wind sock held up just fine with the current boat and the 50 beasts pushing her, but if we end up with a new tri-toon with a 150 like I plan, that windsock might not survive! :biggrin2
