Bimini trailering tube

Not sure if this makes sense, but does anyone know where I can buy the small 1 1/4" tube piece that lets you set the bimini almost all the way down without resting on the furniture? I've googled, but my not bee typing the right verbage. Found one, but not spending $40 for a 6" piece of tubing and bracket.

I may need to just buy a piece of tube and a couple of the bracket pieces and make my own, but I figured the trailering struts would be easier to find.

Just spend the money and get the commercially available strut. It has a plastic thingy on the bottom that grips your square tubing which holds your bimini tightly in place.

I would also be quick to tie the bimini to the fencing with a bungie cord--if you're trailering very far or very fast.

I promise you that you don't want your bimini to fly away. It's easy for them to do--and they need to be held solidly in place. Pontoons already have the aerodynamics of a sail anyway.

Sorry for a newbie question and I don't want to hijack the thread, but are all pontoon biminis like this? Coming from the bowrider world the biminis already come standard with the short post for trailering. My boat isn't in yet so I can't look.

Your Premier will probably have the strut already installed.

When I'm trailering my boat, I drop my bimini all the way down on the upholstery and tie it to the fencing with a bungee. I use the strut when my boat's in the boathouse and I want to raise the boat high out of the water.

My Harris uses this 8" 1x1/4 to secure for trailering, if that helps you with any ideas.

Thanks for the info all. Looks like mine will sit flat without the struts necessary and not being on the furniture, so I may be good.

That looks like an Accon Marine quick disconnect - I added them to my bimini. Boy are they proud of those things!
