Bottom paint question

#1 Post by wijames » Fri May 30, 2014 6:53 am

I'm looking to purchase a used 20' toon and the man said the bottom was painted last year but I am seeing some growth at the water line. Does the paint make it easier to remove the growth and barnacles? And how often does a toon need painting with fairly heavy use?

Thanks

Yes the paint makes it much easier to clean the growth and barnacles off the toons. As for how often they need to be painted. It depends on how much wear is on the paint. When I had mine painted I was told touch up every year and repaint every two years. Had mine painted last year this year just cleaned them up good. I will have them repaired next year.
