wakeboard holder on pontoon?

#1 Post by brockhamre » Fri Oct 24, 2014 10:59 am

I have a premier s-series with a ski tow bar on the back. Has anyone ever mounted a wakeboard holder on one of these? if so, how did it work and is there a certain brand that works best? I do not have a wake tower, only the tow bar on the back as shown.

Is the boat fast enough and/or strong enough to pull a wakeboard rider would be my first question? I thought the whole idea behind a wakeboard was to play in the huge waves made by a plowing boat?

Mercury verado 250 supercharged with 36" ptx. Plenty fast we wakeboard all of the time just looking for better storage options for the boards.

Got ya; sounds like you got plenty of gogo juice! :nana

My only experiance has been with "AKA" home made holders as my SIL runs a CNC mill and he just spit his own mounts outta plex glass....

There are wake board and ski holders that will mount to the tow bar. You could put two on by mounting at different angles on the tow bar. Just do a search. But, they will block a lot of your rear view of course. I have seen some guys make something out of pvc tubing that mounts on the side of the boat.

Our new boat has the center tube storage locker and we love it. It is massive!!! Got rid of all the clutter on the deck down there.

i'm pretty sure this is the one i used to use on the back of my premier.

it worked really well to get the boards off the floor. i do remember having to play with the mounting position, if the boards were too broadside into the wind, they would catch the wind and try to twist out. funny, folks are used to seeing them on towers, but on my ski bar they had a hard time figuring out what they were for.
