Deep cycle batteries?

#1 Post by mgarvie » Sat Nov 08, 2014 2:24 pm

Which deep cycle battery haveyou had the best performance with?

Time to shop for a new battery. The main use will be for lights, live well, radio, etc while anchored cat fishing. Looking for a AGM battery with the highest reserve capacity to keep the lights on all night......maybe two batteries.

Opinions?

On my toon I have 3 wet, one is for the start motor, and 2 wired for 24 volts for troll mt.
On my camper trailer I have two 6 volt golf cart batts wired up for 12 volts, they are over 6 yrs old, before that I had 2 --12 volt deep cycle, and replaced those 3 times before I went to the 6volt golf carts.

Currently, I have the Optima Red Top(9 years old and doing great) and a Die Hard Platinum that is 8 years old and on its last legs. I've been looking at the Duracell group 31 at Sam's Club for $180. Think it will give me about the same life span?
