DFW Boat Show

#1 Post by MerkFalc » Sun Feb 01, 2015 11:44 am

Made it out to the DFW boat show yesterday and wow there were a lot of pontoons. Everything from $20k pontoons up to $120k tritoons with twin 300hp verados. I'd say at least 80% of the boats were pontoons, with wakeboard boats coming in next followed up a few runabouts and fishing boats. Only a handful of yachts. I noticed that mose of the tritoons had strakes on the center toons running the length of the toons and as far down as they could get. Very educational. Loved the vinyl weave they are putting on the boats. They're putting all sorts of crazy things on pontoons now. Even had a diving board on a few of them. Great show, lots of fun.

After taking wife to the 2014 Birmingham and Memphis boat shows (at her request) we bought our first (used) pontoon. We had no plans to buy a boat before seeing all the new toons, but our adult kids kept saying we needed a toon for family outings (for the grandkids!). This year we attended the Atlanta and Birmingham shows and came away even more pleased with our current boat. The shows were very interesting and, yes, there were lots and lots of pontoons and several priced well over $100k at Altanta.

We love the woven flooring and would love to replace our carpet with it one of these days.

Dad and I have been wanting to hit the Houston boat show for about 5 years now. I think we've about decided that we're going next year come hell or high water!
