We want to go to LOTO for July 4 and want to find the best fireworks show. Tan Tara and Four Seasons are the biggest resorts. I assume they put on the best shows.

They are good, but if you are out on the lake beyond dusk, you'll see them all over. We went down towards Pier 31 and could see Tantara's, Captain Rons, Big Dicks and north Bumps Barefoot, Toad Cove and Coconuts, around Osage Beach, Backwater Jacks and the Clown. Plus all the individuals that shoot off thousands of dollars worth from their houses. Its great. Gonna miss it all this year, frickin overtime at work. Really pissin me off! I'm usually out in April, here it is mid May and boats still dry! GRR.....

We used to have a big fireworks show at our local yacht club. The owners of TNT Fireworks were members, and they're the largest importer/retailer of fireworks in the U.S. With over 750 boats sitting out front, the club was afraid of litigation if anyone got hurt.

The city now puts on the fireworks display.

LOTO sounds like a happening place on holidays--especially for waves.

The owner of Bear Bottom Resort is a licensed pyrotechnician and does a show. Never seen it personally.

One huge caveat - if you go by boat, be prepared for really, really rough seas! Once over, the cruisers plow the hell out of the water and it will make the North Atlantic in Winter seem calm. (Okay, I exaggerate a bit) One needs to duck back into a cove and wait until things calm down.

Definitely NOT an exaggeration! If you haven't been on the Lake before on a Holiday Weekend you will never forget it. 5-6 foot waves will sink smaller boats ....and will that weekend. If you are a first timer, especially on a boat, do not go on the main channel until it calms down to 3-4 feet waves! Good luck and be safe!
