pump question

#1 Post by bsmith77327 » Wed Aug 19, 2015 5:55 am

New to the forum, I recently bought a 2014 suntracker 20 fishing barge. It has a front and rear live well. I screwed a regular garden water hose on the fitting on the rear live well so I could wash off hands , kids, whatever, when needed. The boat can with a 500 gph pump which produced very little pressure,I had ordered a 1000gph pump and not much better. I don't expect high volume coming out but what size do I need?
Or is that a total different pump system? Thanks for any advise

The open non-clogging impeller design of most RULE bilge pumps will not develop any real pressure. If you want a pump that will build the type of pressure you need for a spray nozzle then you need something with a flex rubber impeller such as made by JABSO or other unit specifically designed and marketed for that purpose.
