I'm about to hit two League Boulders...

#1 Post by BobG » Mon Aug 03, 2015 8:59 am

We're not talking about milestones here...

This weekend, when I hit the water, the first League Boulder will be 4,000 miles. I'm only 16 miles shy of that, and I'm clicking off about 100 miles per weekend.

The second League Boulder will be 750 hours on the motor. That'll be about 3 hours into the weekend.

And we still have 8 weekends left in the season.

This is our fourth season.

Google says 1 league = 3.45233834 miles

Out of curiosity, how do you determine how many MILES you are covering on an outing?

As we run all over our lake, the only meaningful measurement to me that is measurable is the Hour Meter on the engine.

I would love to know how to figure out how many miles we cover.....

The other thing I keep track of is Gallons of Fuel burned per hour on an average based on the hour meter and how many gallons to fill up vs last fill up.

We've put on over 50 hours since the boat was new at the end of last year. Really didn't start using it for the season until the end of March.

My combination GPS/Fishfinder keeps track of how far I go but I don't write it down after a trip and I think I loose all the info when I power off.

Interesting !!! I often use my Garmin GPS 541 for navigation purposes, but never checked to see if it has the capability to measure distance. Next time out, I'll fool with it.

My Humminbird 385ci keeps track of cumulative miles, and also I use it for hours on the motor. When the motor is started, I turn the Humminbird on, and when the motor is shut off, I shut the Humminbird off.

On the screen with all the numbers, and fishfinder background. It shows average speed, hours, miles, all kinds of stuff.
