Remove a pontoon boat from a bunk trailer for storage

#1 Post by Xscash » Wed Aug 26, 2015 4:30 am

Any good ideas for removing a pontoon from a bunk trailer for storage? The center lift trailers are perfect for this but how do you set a boat on Jacks from a bunk trailer? I store mine on the bunks, but a friend needs to remove it from the borrowed trailer.

Slide it back on the trailer till the toons extend beyond the trailer about a foot. Lower the tongue of the trailer to the ground and put blocks under the back of the toons. Raise the front of the as high as you can with the jack. Make an A frame, like a big saw horse, over the front of the toons wide enough to pull the trailer out. Tie the eyes on the front of the toons to the cross member, lower the tongue and pull the trailer out...or I use my skid steer with forks and shop hoist.
