Prop question for a friend.

#1 Post by rhorne » Tue Jun 07, 2016 8:03 am

Any of you guys running Yamaha 4 stroke, 90 hp engine on a 19 ft pontoon. A friend of mine just bought this set up and I am trying to help him get close on a s/s prop. He has aluminum on it now and has no idea what pitch. I'm thinking probably a 15" pitch but that is only a wild guess. Thanks in advance.

There is a number on the prop to reference the size, I run a 125 merc mainer and it has a 15x13 3/4 prop. He needs to see how fast it runs on gps at max rpm and can cruise then you can decide on a prop, I am a believer on the biggest diameter you can fit. Stainless is not always the best option for us. Hope that helps
