i have a 04 20' sweetwater with a 8.5' beam. It currently has a 50hp 4 stroke and i want to move up to a 115 hp however the boat is only rated for a 90hp. what do i need to do to safely install a 115? any other suggestions for stepping up in HP would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Welcome, glad to have you with us,
They make motor pods that allows you to carry extra weight and HP, I have 20 footer too and was thinking of getting one, if I get to where I can swing the bigger engine, I was looking for the link but haven't found it yet

Welcome to the site!! I guess the ? to ask if your pontoon said it can only hold 10 persons is it ok to have 15 on the boat? I would think the same for motors if it was me I would not go past a 90 hp. But it is a free country (for now)
