Finally!
I've had several boats over the years but never a pontoon and I have wanted one for over fifty years. I finally got one-28ft Plaz, 1975. I wanted one without furniture as I wanted to make it into a floating camp spot. I have only had it to the lake one time and had it set up as a floating patio so that a group could eat on it.
I had trouble launching it and had to have my son-in-law load it with his four wheel drive pickup as I couldn't back into the water far enough with my Toyota van. I have since fixed that as you can see in the pictures. I haven't got to try it yet but looks like it should work great.
Now I can go camping for a day or a month and never step foot on dry land. No more leaving the campsite unguarded in the daytime or leaving the boat ungaurded at night.
I have already done a lot of work on it and the more I do the more I appreciate how good the old boat is. I have refurbished a lot of old boats (made them into the best possible fishing machines). I would do one then sell it at a loss and buy another one and do it again. As you can see I love working on boats. I told my wife that if I never got this one wet is was still worth the money in the pleasure I would get from working on it.
I appreciate all comments and suggestions.
Now I get to do lots of experimenting-cooking-loafing- sleeping-shelter-loafing-storage-fishing-loafing. I need to practice my loafing as I want to get really good at it. LOL
Since I don't know how to post pics yet here is the pic site. http://picasaweb.google.com/shootmor/Pontoon
Finally!

Voyager factory
The Voyager factory is close by and I have been through it twice. They said they would build me precisley what I would want. I like the people and they have a nice facility. I think the quality of their boats is very good. I have no idea why I have never had a pontoon as I have really wanted one for over fifty years and have had several other boats. Since I am new to tooning I will use my present one for learning and experimenting and then if and when I want to have one built I will know more about what I want.
