Re: Stick it Anchor
The price jump is crazy. It goes up to $250 for the 10" kit. I just drift out in the deeper water, but up near the mangroves it's only a couple feet. I'll let ya know how it goes. Thanks for the good reviews.

I've used an 8' one for nearly two years. They now make a 10'. Mine works fine although I would like an additional 2'.Ron Burgundy wrote:Has anyone tried using a stick it anchor, or similar product, on your pontoons? I'm looking for something I can use while fishing shallow water besides my normal anchor. It makes too big of a splash, and I'm sure it spooks the fish. It dosen't hold well in the grass either.
This is what it looks like. Retails for around $85. Same idea as a power pole, but much more affordable.

Re: Stick it Anchor
Brett, I was actually thinking of "rigging" something up like that. Since we fish a lot in shallow water, I was thinking of finding some kind of bracket that had a "bow" in it... would get two, mount one on the front and one on the rear of the boat and then just find some small od pvc pipe or equivalent with a point on it, and run it between the bracket and boat and into the muddy lake bottom.... I think that would work pretty well to keep us stationary...

Copper or galvanized grounding rod at Menards for 10 bucks. Weld a 6" bar and ring on top. Works great. I have one of each and both seem the same.

Re: Stick it Anchor
The only thing about some of the materials out there is that they don't seem flexible. I don't know if it matters but the Stick It Pin anchor has some flex in it that appears to absorb some of the shock of the boat's motion. I've never tried one so can't say for sure if it's an issue, just something I've thought about.

Re: Stick it Anchor
If you have a rigid pole you can use a flexible dock line.

Re: Stick it Anchor
Check out the Box Anchor. I have used it on my large for years using a 20' length of dock line and tying to my rear cleat. No chain, no having to set it, no excessively long rode, just plop or set it in the water. It folds up and slides into a storage bag. Especially perfect for those lazy anchor days where you want to drop hook near shore and get in the water to hang out with friends.

Re: Stick it Anchor
I'm sure it's a good anchor, but I'm trying to avoid dropping a big lound hunk of metal in the water. Shallow water fish are spooked easilly.
