Top or no top

Well the issue is its not a custom cover with snaps its a generic cover that I have to bungie down and it takes like 30 to 45 min to put it on and get it kinda right and it always ends up knocking the pokes over in a few days and water sits in it... I just dont have the extra cash to spare for a $600 custom cover.. I guess i need to fix something to the top and bottom of the poles to keep them stable and figure out a better way to put the cover on.

The plastic side of velcro works really good. stick it to the top and bottom of the poles, its grabs the carpet and the cover, works real good with Sunbrella fabric and snug em up tight! I've used an iron on jeans patch and rivet snaps through the cover and screw the snap stud into the pole cap, too. Some ideas to try, anyway. Both worked good for me.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one anal about putting the cover back on when not in use. Generally speaking, when I am camping for two weeks at a time, I go out every day with my

boat being on the trailer. When my wife and I come back in, if the boat isn't really wet, we just automatically put the cover on. There are some good points that have been made here. Take it off

and put it back on the same way every time, makes it a ton easier. Don't just take off and wad it up. It used to drive me crazy trying to figure ot which end was which. I finally took a permanent

marker and put a B for back end of boat on the rear corners and a F for front end of boat on the front corners, so that I can find my orientation easier. Also, chapstick on the snaps make them go

on and snap loose a lot easier. Put 303 on all the seat covers , and it will keep your interior looking good for a long time. I am going into my 4th season with my Sylvan and the interior looks good

as new. My previous boat was done the same way and when I traded it in , it had 6 years on the interior and it also looked like new.

My wife and I can put the cover on in probably 5 minutes, and we are both 60 plus, we are generally the only ones in the campground with a cover on. Beats having to replace the interior.

On one of my old boats I used to have a tripod type deal I made out of PVC that was free standing. Just set it out in the middle and you could slide the cover over it.
