My brother has a 250 SHO Vmax on his 24 ft Pathfinder. He absolutely loves it. He has had it about 3 years with no issues, and it sees a lot of use

Happy shopping

wallacer wrote:As suggested, we have looked at other brands and really like the Benningtons. The dealer I prefer to deal with sells these as well as South Bay and Berkshire. Spent a good deal of time there yesterday as he pointed out some of the construction differences in the different models. Bennington is very impressive, not to say the others aren't well built, but there are differences. Since I can go to Bennington's web site and build a boat with the options I want and it shows MSRP, my question to you all now would be what percentage should one expect to get off MSRP. Also what are your opinions on the Yamaha Vmax SHO engines. As always, thanks for any input, it is appreciated.
What I did was join the Club Bennington site before I bought mine, which was a big help, though obviously biased. But if you've already made that decision, there is a lot of the information you're looking for there as well as here.

Wallacer, I have not shopped in a while but I just wanted to say you are looking at the 2 brands that I would lean towards as well. We LOVE our South Bay, but also have been very impressed with the Benningtons. I have never owned a Bennington so I cannot comment on their service/attention after the sale, but I can say I have been extremely impressed with South Bay in that regard. I bought my boat used. It was a bank repo that a dealer picked up at auction. That dealer was not even a South Bay dealer at that time. Yet, with all of that separation from South Bay, they still have been very good to me when I have had questions or help with anything. Very impressive customer service, even though I was not really their customer.... we just happened to buy one of their used boats.

Good luck on your purchase. You are looking at amazing boats! Keep us posted on what you decide to buy.
