With the cost of synthetic 2 stroke oil i dont know why your not considering a 4 stroke 60 bucks + per gallon around here adds up pretty quick vs one oil change per season

I've ridden on a few and a 150 will make the boat perform as intended even with a heavy load BUT with a heavy load it will be running close to WOT to keep it up on plane.
If you want to cruise at 30 and top out in the upper 30s/lower 40's then grab the 150, if you need more go bigger. 150 seems to be the sweet spot in pricing as there seems to be the most competition at that HP right now. Sometime bigger motors can use bigger diameter props also which is handy on a pontoon, one reason I really like the Suzuki 150 in the 150hp class, 16" diameter props! DFI 2 strokes and 4 strokes were on an even playing field for fuel efficiency but the newer "lean burn" 4 strokes have gotten the crown back and I don't think 2 strokes will be able to claim it back again. 2 stroke DO seem to still hold the performance edge still.
