If you want to go to the trouble when you replace the wood on your bunks, use this stuff. Your boat will slide right down with just a little help from your motor. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12785

The way others have mentioned by getting someone to hold a rope while you back it in far enough will work the best for lack of slickness. Getting the carpet wet first as mentioned also helps.

Harbor Freight sells a shorter hitch extender for $20 that'll get you another 12" further into the water. And I agree that you need to get the boat level with the truck.

Drago, when my bunks need replacing, I think that I will do my bunks the way that you have done yours. Since my boat and trailer are not quite a year old I am going to wait until they need it.

Also, it is a thought to extend the tongue length by a 2 or 3 feet. I am not sure that it would affect the balance and load of the boat going down the road.

There's a new post today labeled "oops". The guy was reading this thread and thought it said "without getting your boat wet"

Valet service....have not loaded or unloaded in over 3 years. I wish I had done it sooner, I use the boat now 3 days a week during the season. Before maybe once a month?

Also do not need a giant hot wheels truck to drag it back and forth.
