I used to go tent camping many years ago with 3 young children so I already own a portable potty.

My portable potty is a 5 gal bucket with a "Luggable Loo" seat lid for it and some 13 gal trashbags for liners.

Cheap, easy, no muss and no fuss.

We have one for the boat but we also have one for the house in case of long term breakdowns in services.

My husband mentioned something similar. He said a friend used a bucket and put a pool Noodle on it as the seat. I thought that was creative.
