The pontoon boat industry is revolutionizing the designs of the boats. Look back a few years when the logs were much smaller in diameter and had a bullet shaped front and back. The deck also used to sit back a few feet from the front and rear logs. Now they are utilizing the entire length of the log for deck space and sticking the transome far back. And then they came up with the tri-toons, lifting strake, and (tap fins :lol3 ). The the center logs are bigger than the outer logs and come with an elliptic shape. Who knows what the future coud bring some type of lightweight space age polymers materials or kevlar clad pontoons. It seems that new owners are opting for more speed and performance so the new pontoons could really be radical. It always excites me to see improvement and innovations.

Ok, so I would guess my toons were standard in 2005, but would be considered small by todays floatation standards. Like I said before, it really doesn't matter to me, I was just curious.

Thanks for all the replies.
