I think i would tighten it up the choke is important when first starting. and what do you mean the solenoid is wore out

The solenoid rod is really loose and just has a lot of play in it.

If your not getting full choke that would explain hard first start.

I took it to a boat mechanic, and he said that it didnt have enough compression to pump water and fuel, Then we took it to the lake it was a little hard to start but then ran fine? I even called another mechanic and told him how it acted and he said it sounded like the same thing to him.But im happy now atleast it runs!
