I'm with Walt, pontoons aren't made of fiberglass.....that would be a deck boat...

Hey Doc!
Mostly workin. Overtime at the plant has been terrible. Spent some time at LotO and just got back from taking the wife and the In-laws to Yellowstone Park, Jackson Hole Wy. Saw the Tetons. Awesome trip, even with the hmm hmm, In-laws. 3000 mile trip. it was great.
Other than that, selling my EzFenders on the side. They have really been doing good, getting pretty popular. Still no contract with Overtons, but still hoping!

Built a trim plate for the jack plate a few weeks ago, really brought the stern up and out of the water.
I'm gonna take off the rear transom deflectors and see what the boat runs without them, they weigh about 40 lbs a piece, because they are 1/4 inch S/S plate and they make the boat loose on tight turns. I'll post a picture, you'll remember them from last year.

Looking forward to the new motor, should be fun...
What have you been up to, Doc?
(sorry for the hi-jack, guys)

Deflectors mounted at the rear of the boat, turn the water coming in between the tubes down behind the boat. To create an upward lift of the stern. Loosens up the rear of the boat. Added about 3 mph.

Yep, my wifes parent took almost that exact same trip. Think they really enjoyed it. Everyone is saying I should take it.
Glad your fender holders are doing well, but then again they are the best out there. So what is the latest with the deflectors? Thought you were going to sell the manitou. If I don't start getting more use out of the dockmobile, I might as well sell it. On the better side, really thinking of building on the lake property. With a 4.5% interest rate now would be the time. Thinking if I do build maybe put in a new dock an boat lift. Know I would get more use of the boat if I had a lift. Nothing exciting on this end. Been almost to hot to get out of the house here lately. Need to hang around here when you can so you could answer the prop questions. Any way good to hear from you an don't work too hard. Dang since I retired, I am totally useless, really have gotten lazy.. Take care an drop in when you have the time

Its a real nice trip. Best part was on I90 in South Dakota. Father in-law saw the sign for Sturgis. Said, God I would love to see that. So we did! He said he was amazed at the size, "Of what, the number of bikes"? I asked. No, "THE BOOBS" HE SAID! Bought him a dew rag, looked real good with that on with his bib overalls. Ya, He's a retired Iowa farmer, what can I say...
The Manny was just about traded 3 weeks ago. I was cleaning it up getting it ready to take up to trade it in and I fellin love with it all over again. After my article in Boating World Magazine, I better stay with Manitou for awhile longer. Give them a chance to get that big block built for me. But this thing is so fun as it is, Just that old Baja fever in me telling me to take it to the limits. So I'm still at it!
Take the trip, Doc. You'll love it! Thanks for the EzFender Feedback. They really take some of the stress of boating away.
Brandon...How are yours holding up?
Later Guys!

LTB, Do it!
When I first got mine it ran 48mph, bone stock. I was into the Poker run scene with a 500 hp Baja and when the family got bigger, it had to go, but the "GFWI" disease stayed in me. Slow cruising is awesome, we do it all the time. The jack plate gets me into shallow water that I have never been in before with my cruisers. I probably slow cruise, 90% of the time. But Its worth all the money spent to see the looks on the faces on people when you blow by them in a pontoon boat. I'll need a big casket when I go, because thats where I'll grow up! (hey, that could be a song!)
Have fun with it!

What the hell doesn't vibrate loose in the B "ass shakin" Frequency! I think I heard your stereo in Sturgis over all the rumbin Harleys! If you need more knobs, just let me know! Wish we could hve gotten together at the Lake...Maybe next year!
