Crapped out Labor Day weekend....

First Reverse started going out then Forward in the middle of the lake....

We are getting an SEI replacement for $850 with a 3 year no fault warranty hard to beat!

I need to get my old one off to double check measurements first, to get proper replacement.

Supposed to have the new "toon" delivered to the Lake either the 28th or 29th of this month. Once we have it, we'll run it whenever it's a nice day and we aren't off doing something else away from the lake. That's the benefit of having your boat about 100 feet away from your back door.
When we had the 4 Winns with the I/O I never wanted to drop it in the water until I was sure we weren't going to have temps in the mid-20s anymore. But that won't be an issue with the Benny-no winterization!

Just know that I had to pay to have my SEI lower unit (on an I/O) removed and shipped back to the factory from Michigan to Florida for its "no fault warranty" repairs. That, plus reinstallation cost me about $150.

It vibrated and made noise while turning. They claimed to have "rebuilt" it. The noise/vibration was gone after re-breaking it in. This was in its second season with maybe 50 hours on it. I knew it was my original unit, not a replacement, because it had my original drive shower on it.

I'm not saying don't do it, just that warranty doesn't mean completely free of charges.

This has to be the earliest I've hit the water, it's usually mid to late April.
