Hope they help!

Hey Bryden....Thanks for posting the pics.

On your first pic, how are the straps (trailer ends) connected to trailer;can't see the detail in pic?

I was thinking of mounting two of the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Transom Tie-Downs on the trailer along the rear cross member. They would mount about midway between the center clearance lights (3 bulb one) and the taillights. One for each pontoon. This would give the strap an approximate 135 degree obtuse angle from the mounting point using the cross member as the base line; similar to how yours are mounted.

Would the mounting holes weaken the trailer? Probably about 1/2" holes
Would the angle hinder the effectiveness?

Thoughts?

That Hoosier trailer had 2 u-shaped tabs welded to it. They stuck out about 2 inches and were about the same wide, if I remember right. I never had a problem with the angle of the straps, it held it down fine. The Premier/Heritage Trailer that I have now are straight down. The starboard strap hits my laddder, which I don't like, But its been down the road almost 2500 miles now and no issues. I think I had about 25,000 on the Manitou/Hoosier. That boat was towed all over the place. Never a flat tire or anything! Now that I jinxed myself........... :hammer
Instead of drilling holes through the trailer, could you just wrap the bottom of the strap around the trailer, up and around the strap? Drilling holes in trailers=more spots to rust and weaken the trailer. Know anyone that could weld on some u-shaped tabs or u bolts?

Weak and light duty trailer frames Is why I own a bear trailer. Take a look at one some time, yes it is heavy and it takes more gas to pull, but the toon stays put. My empty trailer is 850 pounds for a single axle 20 foot toon.
If it aint broke your not having enough fun

My Bear trailer is junk. I have had alot of problems with it. I am glad I do not trailer with it any more.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.
