Many of the manufacturers are in their 2014 dealer meetings this month, so management in small companies like this who make most of the decisions are going to be very busy. I do hope they come through soon for you. It seems like you're on the right path.

Update!

Manitou's Director of Marketing called me yesterday on the phone. I was informed by him that the Marine Surveyor found no evidence of impact whatsoever!

While the details have not been finalized yet, Manitou has agreed and wants to replace the entire center tube by one of their dealers nearby. This is great news!

They also want to have a conference call with me and their Vice President or President to finalize the details and I hope to review how we all got into this mess to begin with as I truly feel none of this needed to occur. As a business owner myself, I do know the importance of having post project meetings to review the good and the bad, make changes as necessary and most importantly, to learn from it. If there is something I should of done differently, I certainly want to know as I am quite sure Manitou is reviewing their handling of this matter as well...

I once again want thank everyone here for your continued support. I will report back once everything is finalized with Manitou.

Thanks!!

Dan

Yea I'm sure it will.

Dan, Glad to here that things worked out AND Manitou is upholding there end of the agreement. As a Manitou owner I can honestly say that I've never really given the warranty/customer service any thought since I've never had to use it..... But this whole issue and thread has opened my eyes into the other things that must be considered for the next pontoon purchase.

Good deal, they are following this topic too and I think they will see it will show them in the right light as they have now resolved the issue and are working to get his toon back in good shape.

Mistakes were made but they have been corrected, it takes more courage to admit you were wrong, and make it right

Awesome! Glad to hear it.

What would be awesome for the rest of us is Manitou issuing each of us in this thread a 10% off your best deal on a new 2013 or 2014 pontoon! Need my address? :nana

Great news! I agree that this was not necessary from the beginning. Glad to see that cooler heads have prevailed and that Manitou has stepped up to resolve the issue.

Glad to hear it is getting resolved. Several have said this was unnecessary and I agree. I am glad, on the other hand, that it was brought out in this forum. Im sure there are other business that watch this and other forums that pertain to their business and hopefully they will see how quickly things can turn on them. Hopefully, this will help them realize that service after the sale is just as important as providing a quality product and they need to be very careful of who they put in charge of that service.

I believe it is a good lesson for the forum, and for the makers to learn and be aware of, and as such should be kept for posterity's sake.

However, Manitou is a good company and once they resolve this issue we need to make sure that people don't just read the first page of the thread and write them off.

Is it possible to ad a disclaimer on the first page stating that Manitou satisfactorily fixed this and pointing new readers to the later pages of the thread?

(I don't work for them, But I've been pretty pleased with my boat)

Great news ! I agree with a small disclaimer stating that Manitou has stepped up...WHEN they complete the repairs. Until then leave it intact ... we are the biggest/best pontoon forum now and we should continue our policy of not kissing manufacturer's asses like PDB/Brady does/did (are they even still around?) :rofl

If they really want the thread removed, I personally would say that gives me the feeling they didn't learn, and just want to cover up. But what do I know.... :2cents
