I'll be right behind you. 2 weeks ago the weekend was beautiful here. Last weekend was windy as hell and next looks the same. That gives me the last weekend in October :(

Any reason/advantage to pull the battery - other than charging convenience? I have never pulled the battery in my toon. I usually hit it once or twice with the charger when I head up to the camp over the winter. My last battery lasted 4 years.

Just curious......

P.S. I live in Louisiana so winters are relatively mild.

It's recommended if temps drop below freezing in your area. A discharged battery will freeze solid and then it's trash.

This was only the 2nd season of boating for us, so last winter was the first "off season". we live in louisiana as well and keep our boat in indoor storeage. It's not climate controlled so whatever the temp is outside, thats the temp inside... I did not pull my battery last year and had no trouble with it this past spring.. But the first time I brought the boat out of storeage, I did put a charger on the battery just to make sure she'd fire up at the lake. By the way, what part of Louisiana you in.. we're up north, just outside of Shreveport in a little community called "blanchard".

Roland....I am in Baton Rouge.

For all others, sorry to hear about your winters being that cold

Of course we have to deal with the occassional alligator and snake but we have a boating season that lasts close to 8 months (for wimps like me - longer for real men).

Yup.. if its not 100% charged, it'll freeze out here in Colorado.. :paranoid

In the garage it goes, along with the campers duel deep cycles.
I hit em all with a charge every month or so during the winter... :thumbsup

Same here...the barge gets winterized Nov. 1st. Then the boat's honey-do list begins!
1. recarpet upper sundeck
2. new stereo head
3. refasten swim platform
4. realize it may be cheaper to buy a new boat...

I pull mine on Friday. Then off to the yard to get winterized and stored (indoors of course)

I'm trying to hold out. But this cool weather and rain is not helping. I'll probably go and give the seats & console a good cleaning this weekend and call it a season. Shrinkwrap here we come.

Brought our trailer home from work tonight. Gonna get a nice ride in tomorrow afternoon, then pull her out and put her away for the winter.

Last season ended in middle September with the dock and boat damage in the storm. We've only had a few more trips out later this year, but they've been worth it. Supposed to be pretty nice tomorrow too.
