annoying deck/fence vibration

#1 Post by Mr Geets » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:08 am

I carefully snugged up the screws on our front gate support areas and went underside of deck to make sure all cross pieces were screwed tight. Wierd, but when someone steps by the angled floor to gate hinge upright post- a vibration starts. Step away and it is gone. Any ideas?

Cut a little piece of swim noodle and tywrap it into the gate to fence gap to tighten it up.

I did away with the gate latches altogether on the sides and use a bungee cord, saddle tied around the hinge gap for an auto closing gate that doesn't rattle
