Mercury Motor Recall Notice

This morning I just received a Safety Recall notice from Mercury on my 2012 - 60HP Big Foot. I am just posting for general information for other members with the same motor. Now, are other HP motors involved? It doesn't say.
I still have to phone my dealer to see what to do exactly because the toon is about 100 miles away!!! I hope to get it closer to home in the next short while.
Best of luck to all of us on this.

Sounds like it's a pretty small item. I would just take the fuel line in and have them check it out. If bad they could give you a new one. I don't think I would want to pull the boat 100 miles to check the fuel line.

I would call the dealer first. The Chinaman who wrote that may not have English as his first language.
"Primary bulb"?
Is he talking about the primer ball? How could a bad check valve there cause a fuel leak? I bet they are talking about the fuel connector on the motor. There is a check valve and a seal there too. My old 60 had a leak there and I had to replace the connector. It was causing bubbles in the fuel filter, lean burn and leaked when you pumped the bulb.

I won't be pulling it just for that. It just so happens I may have the opportunity of getting the toon closer to where I live at another marina. This will work out even better as just across the lake there is a Princecraft/Mercury dealer.
Have a good one!
